                   to hootchy-kootchy

          for hookah for hoopoe 
                    for hoop skirt (def. 2) 

where hoodwink means 
         to deceive or trick 
                  to hide the give-away facial tic 

beneath the hood of a cloak 
         to cross your fingers on a promise 
                   you never meant to keep 

in a pocket with the lint 
          the pennies the ringed keys 
                   the origami list of 

what you can’t forget 
          to do before you’ve closed 
                   the book on it
