Relapse
Michiru Kaneki
Each night she keeps knocking at the door,
Trying to feed her addiction, wanting more.
The drugs are her escape from the life she’s in,
Trapped between doing good and wanting sin.
She never stays clean for long, just enough to buy trust,
Then chaos in our lives, her arm thrusts.
When staying clean is a choice between life or death,
You’d think she’d do it, but she doesn’t want another breath.
Blacked out nights she won’t remember,
Cold nights in long December.
Running out to find the black,
I hope she never comes back!
Of course she does though,
Just long enough to scam a hundo.
Before she goes and scores again,
Feeding her lifelong addiction, trapped in sin.
It’s a path she can’t escape or try to run.
The demon's got her in his path, the deed is done.
She traded her soul for pills, powder, and a needle,
Chills rush through her body, she don’t need those!
But the holes between her toes tell a different story,
Any crevice that can hide them in her body, it’s kind of gory.
The monster’s inside and she’s fighting back,
Till she loses again and goes to find black.
She keeps coming back, like a roach they say,
Here one night, gone the next day.
It interrupts everyone around her and my life too,
Why doesn’t she see the pain she’s putting us all through?
Her demons aren’t that different from the ones we have inside,
Hers are drawing ours out, a family landslide.
My brother feels the itch, that burn to use again,
His demon wants to drag him back down to a life of sin.
Addiction, it’s a family disease, don't you know?
What happens when your family has no place else to go?
Should we forgive every time, all the hurt that she’s caused?
Wrap the wounds, hide them away behind gauze?
Nothing is helping, there is no cure;
What if there’s no way to help her?
Would you turn your back on someone, after years of bliss?
After months of them cheating with drug’s ugly kiss?
I look for the answers, but they escape me still.
Try to think of answers for me, if you will?
What would you do, cause I don’t know anymore?
One sec, that’s her, knocking at the door.
Trying to feed her addiction, wanting more.
The drugs are her escape from the life she’s in,
Trapped between doing good and wanting sin.
